Antonio Lleyda
A Naval Engineer with an MBA in Management of Oil and Gas and Project Management, Antonio is a graduate of the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo. During his studies, Antonio conducted research and development of software for the marine industry, and worked at General Motors performing simulations using the finite element method. Upon graduation, he worked at Braslfels Shipyard in Angra dos Reis, and was involved in the construction of three AHTS ( “Anchor Handling Tug Supply”) ships for Maritime Delba, as well as the construction of two PSV (“Platform Supply Vessels”) ships for Maersk (Rolls-Royce designs). He also worked at Lloyd's Register on the inspection and certification of ships in service, as well as on the construction of a series of Platform Supply Vessels (PSVs) and tugboats (Damen Shipyards projects). He also has experience in ISM and ISPS audit on ships and companies operating in the maritime industry. Antonio joined Liberty International Underwriters as Marine Risk Engineer in March 2011, where he is focused on design loads, general cargo, shipbuilding, Hull & Machinery, RC and RC Repairer Port Operator Naval. Antonio is specialized in underwriting complex Transportation and Project Cargo risks that may require DSU ( “delay in start-up”) coverage.
